Revolving

“I thought the world would revolve without us,” the singer sang

The world demanded them
their time
their energy
their gifts

But in each other, they created a space only penetrable by a shared heartbeat

Breathes slowed
Stressed eased
Spirits whispered
With the kiss of lips, phones forgotten
Waking up to fifteen messages and three missed calls
She felt protected
He felt lifted
“Revolve without us, without us”
Outside she walked, imbued with his strength. She glowed from his faith in her ability
Outside he swagged, inflated with her pride of him. His smile infectious from thinking of her faith in him.

Together they evolved

past fear
past doubt
past the past

Together they revolved around God as the center
Together their hearts expanded beyond what they thought was possible
